Cheryl J. Muldrew-McMurtry is a financial expert, accountant, certified non-profit consultant, global financial educator, speaker, and senior executive with more than 30 years of experience in managerial accounting, strategic and economic planning, data analysis, and taxation. She is also passionate about faith and service, working alongside her husband as Campus Pastor of World Outreach & Bible Training Center, Inc., North Campus, where she not only spreads the gospel worldwide but also equips the body of Christ with wealth-building and financial literacy principles.
A native of Chicago, Illinois, Cheryl earned her Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Fisk University in Nashville, Tennessee. She began her career in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, at Firstar Corporation (now US Bank) as a Financial Analyst. Cheryl’s career continued to flourish, providing her the opportunity to work for several for-profit and non-profit businesses in southeastern Wisconsin, which include Time Warner Cable, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, and World Outreach & Bible Training Center, Inc., where she has served as the Chief Financial Officer for over a decade.
In March of 2004, Cheryl founded McMurtry Financial Services, LLC, and serves as the President and Principal Accountant. Cheryl's mission is to strengthen the financial viability of for-profit and non-profit organizations globally. Through her firm, she offers an array of services that also include financial education and seminars for universities, community organizations, and civic groups, including the Northwest Side Community Development Corporation, BMO, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Carroll University, Webster University, Northwest Missouri State University – KC, and Mount Mary University, to name a few. Cheryl is also the host of the McMurtry Financial Services, LLC Financial Symposium, which connects over 100 businesses to trusted resources, and is the creator of Financially Built to Last, a podcast designed to empower listeners with lasting financial principles to win in business and life.
Cheryl holds certifications in Non-Profit Organizational Assessment and Non-Profit Life Cycles and is an active member of several professional and civic organizations, including The Links, Incorporated, National Association of Tax Professionals, National Association of Women Business Owners, Professional Dimensions, and multiple chambers of commerce across Wisconsin. She serves as a Member of the City of Milwaukee Housing Trust Fund Advisory Board, State Council Member for the Small Business Majority, and Finance Committee Member for the Urban Learning Collaborative.
She is the wife of her loving husband, Timothy L. McMurtry, II, and they have two beautiful children, Joshua and Layla.
